The surnames 

The Ewes name their children after the day of the week on which the child was born.

for example:

Komla:  for a on Tuesday
Kossi: for a child born on Sunday.

And on the other hand through important leitmotifs of the Ewes such as: ideas, motivation, hope, life, faith etc.
